After the passing away of my mother, I realized something horrible about this world. They don’t care about you or your feelings. I learned that there is no love like a mother; there’s one greater but none equal.

My mom raised me to be ready for this world but I didn’t know simply because I was a teenager and wanted to have fun. No matter how mad I got because she wouldn’t allow me to do as the world did, she stood her ground. She would always and I mean always back it up with “Son I do this because I love you”.

After every beating; after all punishments; they were all followed by “I love you“.

It seems in such a crazy world that we’ve lost sight of what love is. My mom loved me enough to not allow me to do what I wanted to do knowing I was not going to agree with it.

Would she have loved me if she allowed me to do what I wanted?

Love is knowing what’s good for someone and then telling them; which is why I had to write this message.

 

The huge problem I see is with the churches telling people who all they have to do is have faith and they’ll make it into the kingdom of God. I was just on YouTube and saw a comment from some guy saying there would be murderers, stealers, fornicators etc. in heaven; contrary to the word of God. That’s what propelled me to write this post.

The people of this world are being lied to; thinking as long as they get a few tattoos of who we know as Jesus, wear a cross (which really means the complete opposite of what most think), read a few scriptures here and there and pray sometimes, they’ll make it into the Kingdom of God.

We look at it almost like God needs us in his Kingdom. Best believe he’s doing us a favor and we take it for granted.

What I’m getting at is NO SINNER will make it into the Kingdom of Heaven; and before you start turning to Ephesians, let’s break some things down.

We’re Saved Through Grace? Right?

I noticed that many people just shout out scriptures but don’t even know what they mean. I was once like this. Let’s look at the definition of grace first and get some understanding.

Grace: 1. A disposition to be generous or helpful; goodwill. 2. Mercy; clemency. 3. Divine love and protection bestowed freely on people. 4. The state of being protected or sanctified by the favor of God. 5. An excellence or power granted by God.

Ok so we can basically see that is favor that God did for us; that being stated in John 3:16:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

That was the gift we were given and according to Titus 2:11, it is available to ALL MEN.

11. For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
12. teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
13. looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
14. who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

I went past 11 a bit to show you what God expects for those that take this gift but we’ll get deeper into that in a bit.

So how is one to obtain this FREE gift of salvation that was given to us by the death of Christ on the cross? How are we truly saved?

Ephesians 2:8-10 says it plain as day

8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

So All I Have To Do Is Have Faith? Right?


Faith in what? Let’s first break down how serious faith is. The definition of faith is

1. confidence or trust in a person or thing

Think about what we are doing. This is why people think were crazy. We believe in God who we never seen. We believe in Jesus who we’ve never seen. We believe in his works that are only words in a book in some eyes but we have no real proof that they existed.

So why do we believe what we believe? Because we have the upmost faith that God is real and I for one, have experienced the power and blessings of God’s love. I have no doubt in my heart. That’s faith.

So what exactly are we having faith in? It’s more than just Christ dying for our sins.

Way before Jesus came, God gave us His laws; otherwise known as the 10 commandments. These laws were written with the FINGER of God and given to Moses on Mt. Sinai.

While going through the wilderness, the children of Israel were so ungrateful and sinned like nobody’s business. They broke the commandments and needed a way to be forgiven.

This is where God told Moses to write (handwritten) down certain rules and statutes that must be obeyed in order to be forgiven for breaking the 10 commandments. They had drink offerings, meat offerings, holydays to partake in, new moons and sabbath days (plural; not the sabbath DAY; 4th commandment).

Now I don’t want to go into the commandments but if you’d like to read more on how the laws of God and laws of Moses are 2 different laws backed with plenty of scripture, check out that post by clicking the link.

Now those laws were tough to keep. My guess is God wanted to show them how much he loved them by making it 10x easier on them. Jesus was the PERFECT sacrifice, so there was no more killing of lambs and bulls in order to be forgiven of sins. Drink and bread offerings were done away with because Jesus was the bread of life and we drink of his blood. (figuratively of course)

Basically all the strenuous rituals that had to be performed in order to be forgiven of sins were nailed to the cross. (Colossians 2:16). Not the 10 commandments. In 1 Timothy 1:9 were told:

9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

The word “Is” is present tense. If the 10 commandments were done away with then Paul would have said was.

Now we are having total faith that Jesus died for our sins and in saying that, we no longer have to participate in the rituals that came with getting forgiveness. The Jews didn’t believe Jesus was the chosen one which was why Peter in Acts 15:10,11 asked them why they were trying to do something that they, neither their fathers, could do; meaning keep the laws of Moses…

10. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11. But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Is just believing enough?

No. If so, Jesus would have been wrong when in Matthew 7:14, he said:

14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

He said that few would find it. Mostly everyone and their mother believes that Jesus died for their sins. The key is not taking grace for granted. I love the way grace is broken down on another site so I decided to use it.

You work 40 hours this week and you get paid $1000.00. After you get your check you have to go to the bank. Maybe you have to drive 10 miles to get there. After you get there on a Friday evening around 5:00 p.m., the place is swamped. You then wait in line for 45 minutes to get to the teller. She requires you to endorse the check and provide her with some form of photo ID before she will cash your check. After all that effort, don’t you think the check should be worth more? Look at all the effort you put forth to get it cashed. Probably at least an hours worth of your time, maybe spent in a hot car, waiting in the drive through. What if she decided you didn’t look enough like your gorgeous picture on your drivers license and refuses to cash your check unless you came back during lobby hours? It still doesn’t increase the value of your check does it? No matter how many banks you go to, how many lines you wait in, how many times you sign your name and show your ID, the check will never increase in value, irregardless of the amount of work you put forth to cash it. Truth is, Christ performed the work for our salvation. His death, His suffering, His blood earned the Grace (check) for us. No matter how you live, you have grace waiting for you. He died for us all.

But…

The problem that most “Christians” have is they’ve been taught they do not have to go to the bank, wait in line, endorse the check and provide ID to exchange grace for salvation!

If you were to receive a $10,000,000.00 check, it will have no actual value until it is endorsed and cashed. Unfortunately, most people of today are carrying around the “check” of Grace without activating it by obeying God’s word.

So exactly how do you get God’s grace?

By having faith and believing in him according to John 3:16. If you truly believe in someone, you’ll follow everything they do. We are supposed to walk as Jesus did out of love; which is why the Law was put in our heart. You can read this in Matthew 22:36-40 where Jesus told us the 2 greatest commandments.

36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38. This is the first and great commandment.
39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Now logically if you look at the 10 commandments of God, you’ll see that the first 4 consist of loving God and the last 6 consist solely of loving your neighbor. This can be later affirmed in John 14:13 where Jesus says:

15. If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Also in 1 John 5:3 where John says:

3. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous (meaning causing grief).

Those scriptures were after Christs death for those that say the commandments of God were just old testament law.

Think About This

Earlier in 1 Timothy 1:9, we see where it says “the law is not made for a righteous man (those that keep his law), but for the lawless and disobedient”.

If there were no commandments to keep, this would be a lawless society. We wouldn’t need forgiveness with no rules in place to be broken. The commandments were made to distinguish those that love him with their hearts from those that just love him in words.

It’s sad that many will read this and still think that they have a one way ticket to the Kingdom of God. The bible is very specific in who will not make it. In Galatians 5:19-21 were told:

19. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20. Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21. Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

This is also backed up by 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (men acting as women), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10. Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

The bible is clear as day in stating who will not make it into the Kingdom of God and it is also clear on who will make it. In Galatians 5:22-26

22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

There is no law because they keep it in their heart doing it out of love for God. Please don’t follow behind the other sheep being lead to slaughter thinking all they have to do is simply believe.

Listening to pastors telling them all they have to do is pay tithe, come to church and believe. You can’t buy salvation; you can’t buy your way into heaven.  Our salvation was already paid for by the blood of Jesus.

It’s there waiting for you and all you have to do is receive it.

In Conclusion

My mom made sure I grew up in a home with rules and laws. No matter how much I wanted to go against them, I had to keep them; or surfer the consequences. She prepared me for a world that would go in a completely different direction.

A world of lawlessness where many would do their own will instead of the will of God; simply because it seems fun. We were told that FEW will make it into the Kingdom; Not many as they would like you to believe. It’s a fact that many love the ways of the world rather than the ways of God; even some self-proclaimed followers of Christ.

In 1 John 2:15-17, were told:

15. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Now what’s really disturbing is most people die without hearing this truth and contrary to what many believe, no one goes to heaven right after death. There are many strictures to back this up but if you think logically, in 1 Thessalonians 4:16, it says that when Jesus comes back, the dead in Christ shall rise first. I’ll do a detailed post on this soon.

Saying the dead are looking over us is contrary to Ecclesiastes 9:5 where it says the dead know nothing.

If their already there with Jesus, then how are they going to rise? Now those that died in their sins… Well I’m not 100% sure on when and where they’ll be judged or if they’ll have a chance to hear the true word of God but there is mention of a 1000 year millennial reign of Christ where satan will be bound and thrown into the bottomless pit. (revelation 20:1).

This is something I want to do more study on before I speak on it. I suggest you do your own study. Read all this and get knowledge for yourself. Don’t just believe what i tell you. I could be wrong in some of my teaching but trust that every Word of God is true.

Now I’m bringing you this very important information out of love. Whether or not you listen to these words is on you. If I call you my brother or sister and you come to me in your sins and I don’t try to steer you in the right direction, I don’t love you.

If my mom would have let me do what I wanted, she wouldn’t have loved me.

My mom showed me the way and when I got older, I didn’t depart. I realized what she taught me was the right way and went right back to it.

Now I’m not perfect. None of us are. That doesn’t mean we run around here sinning thinking were protected just because we believe Jesus died for our sins. We are expected to make a change after receiving the holy spirit.

The things of this world; their almost impossible to stay away from if you don’t have God’s spirit. Sex and the love of money are going to be the main reasons for a lot of people burning in the lake of fire. I’ve been on both sides of the fences and one thing I can say from the side where the grass is greener is it’s a lot easier to sleep at night knowing you’re truly protected by God’s grace and mercy.

Not because you gave your 10% this week and last week. Not because you had the nicest outfit in church. Not just because you fed the homeless.

But because you love God. With your heart and not just your mouth.

It begins with fear of God. The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge. Knowing that I was destroying my soul forced me to flee fornication. You have to want change and this doesn’t begin with a church. It begins in your home asking God in prayer to deliver you and show you truth.

If you seek truth, he will show it to you. I’m certain that’s part of the reason you’ve read (or listened to) this whole post. You’re seeking truth.

Bible says seek and you shall find. After you begin to get the truth, a whole new world will be opened up to you. You’ll see things in the world for what they really are. How clubbing is contrary to what you should be doing. Not going into that but see for yourself what I’m talking about.

You’ll see friends not want to hang around you because you’ve changed; or the other way around.

Either way, you’ll get a totally transformed mind thanks to the Holy Spirit. Start at home and let God direct your paths in the way you need to go.

I’ve shown you with the Word of God what grace is, what faith is and how we are able to get our gift given from God, our father.
