What Did Our Saviour, Look Like?

Would You Know Our Saviour If He Was In Front Of You?

Better research what that hand gesture the one to the right is doing too.... ;-)

Over the last few years, I’ve seen a surge in the amount of images of what Jesus or as I like to call him, our Saviour, looks like.

Some are of an african guy with dreads and most are of a Caucasian guy with long stringy blonde hair. In fact, there are many different versions of the “white Jesus”.

If there are so many different pictures of our saviour, how are we to know him from, say a guy on the corner who is dressed in all white with long stringy blonde hair?

He Warned Us…

Our savior warned us in Matthew 24:4,5 that many would come in his name and announce themselves as the Messiah.

He firmly says “Don’t be deceived” in verse 4.

satan is known as the great deceiver (“deceived the whole world” rev. 12: 9). It’s what he does best. He’s been doing it since the beginning of creation when he deceived Eve aka Chavvah, into eating of the tree of good and evil.

He is most famous for deceiving the angels (known as the fallen) into joining his losing team.

If he can deceive the angels; sons of our heavenly father; who are we? Without his truth and spirit, we are NOTHING…

Imagine This…

We know that satan is not just a deceiver but a master deceiver. He is the father of lies and deceit.

It’s apparent by what happened in Genesis that he can also assume different forms.

With that being said, imagine if satan (or who he gives power to) appears as the image of who we all know as Jesus today.

Could you imagine how powerful that would be?

Someone who you’ve worshipped all your life as your saviour is standing in front of you; if people cried for Michael Jackson, the Beatles, Elvis and many more, what do you think is going to happen when they see their saviour standing in front of them?

Someone brought to my attention another point. Being that satan has so much power to deceive those that don’t have our father’s spirit, what if in every persons own eyes, he appeared as the image of Jesus or their saviour they were familiar with?

If they worship the black Jesus, he would appear to them as the black Jesus with dreads; the white Jesus would appear as the white Jesus to those that worship his image. He may even appear as the Virgin Mary to the catholics.

Remember we aren’t just dealing with some regular guy with a few tricks up his sleeves.

We’re dealing with the master deceiver.

My Thoughts On This…

I believe he is going to look like whoever you want him to look like and if you bow to him (which will be hard not to do) then you’re in direct disobedience against our father in heaven.

What does our true Saviour have to say?

First off he told us not to be deceived. In Matthew 24:23, our Messiah tells us that if a man has to tell us that our Saviour is “here or there”, don’t believe it.

In verse 24, he says:

many false messiahs shall come in his name showing great signs and wonders; signs so POWERFUL that they would DECEIVE the very elect IF IT WERE POSSIBLE.

If we don’t study the scriptures, then we can easily be deceived.

If a man has to tell us that our messiah has come for us then IT IS A LIE; no matter if it’s a friend, a family member or your local pastor. What did the one who’s coming to save us say?

He later describes his coming in Matthew 24:29 – 31. He says that

after the tribulation, we shall see the sign of Son of Man in heaven.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:16

“For the Messiah himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the rum of our Heavenly Father, and those that died in his name shall rise first.”

In verse 17 it says how those that remain shall then be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet with the Messiah in the air and shall be with him forever.

satan’s whole existence is filled with him trying to imitate our heavenly father. He wants to be like him and has fooled quite a few people but this is where it stops.

What Are We Supposed To Look For?

We aren’t supposed to be looking for an image but for an EVENT and a SOUND. His coming is represented by the voice of the archangel and him riding on clouds out of heaven.

This is later magnified in Revelations 6:14 where it says:

the heaven departed like a scroll as it was rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

Can’t tell me that’s not going to be recognizable.

Don’t let someone talk you into believing in some secret rapture where the Messiah is going to secretly take up his people before the tribulation.

If so, show me in scripture where it says this and I’ll be more than happy to change this.

Conclusion

He warned us what would happen in the end times and even told us what we were suppose to look and listen for.

I have a strong feeling that this secret rapture that many are waiting for is going to be what we were warned about in Matthew 24.

People are going run to whoever is behind it and who knows what will happen next.

This is what comes from not reading the word for yourself. The problem with most supposes followers today is they go by what they were told.

Even when I wasn’t as strong minded about the word as I am now, I wouldn’t just believe anything that sounded good.

My friend who kept me in his prayers to eventually develop a love for the word, said that’s what he’s likes about me.

He would tell me something and I would always disagree and then follow up with “show me”. Of course he would always have the word with him so he could do just that.

I challenge you to read the word for yourself.

Don’t just believe what a pastor tells you. Many of today’s pastors are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

What’s even worse is they’re preaching to people with itchy ears as the word calls them (2 Timothy 4:3); meaning they will accept anything that sounds good to them.

Don’t just believe what I say. Pray for understanding and read the Word. If you seek truth, he will give it to you. I prayed for wisdom and almost immediately I began seeing things in a whole new light.

To end this post, I asked what does Jesus look like; or better yet, what will our Messiah look like? The answer is, no one knows and we aren’t supposed to be looking for an image of a man.

This is why I never quite understood people getting tattoos of a face which they have no idea who it belongs to. Even churches have this image plastered on their walls.

If you have a specific image of our Messiah burned into your memory, I suggest forgetting it because if you see him in a manner that doesn’t line up with the word, then you are in trouble if you don’t have the truth in you.

I want to thank you for reading this post. If you have any questions, feedback or just want to say hi, please feel free comment.

Have a blessed day…
